Der Beitrag interpretiert den Brief von Max Brod an Arnošt Kraus über die Darstellung der historischen Figur Thaddaeus Hagecius von Hayek. Es handelt sich hier um einen Disput zweier Intellektueller über die besondere Stellung der Belletristik mit historischer Thematik zur gegebenen historischen „Wahrheit“ sowie auch über die Stellung der „tschechischen“ Persönlichkeiten in der Zeit des Humanismus in Böhmen.

It deals with a dispute of two intellectuals about the special position of the fiction with historical themes on the given historical „truth“ as well as about the position of the „Czech“ personalities at the time of humanism in Bohemia.
