El capítol analitza l’impacte internacional del mètode de transfusió de sang de Frederic Duran i Jordà a través de la seva transferència a Txecoslovàquia a finals dels anys trenta. Examina com la innovació mèdica va circular en un context tens d’abans de la guerra, el paper de metges txecs com Karel Holubec en l’adaptació i difusió del mètode, i com els esdeveniments polítics - des de l’ocupació nazi fins al període de postguerra i el comunisme - van modelar la memòria, l’ús i la posterior marginació de les contribucions de Duran i Jordà.
