Atmospheric attenuation analysis using Alphasat beacon and distrometer in Prague
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The objective of this contribution is to present and discuss results obtained by three year measurement of 19 and 39 GHz atmospheric attenuation using beacon signal from the satellite Alphasat while this experiment is called ´Aldo Paraboni Technology Demonstration Payload 5 (TDP#5)´ or SCIEX. A CD of attenuation on 19 and 39 GHz is presented. A comprehensive research was performed through the videodistrometer measurement. From this measurement the theoretical specific rain attenuation was computed using three different approximations. The results are discussed. Also the 39 GHz and 19 GHz attenuation were compared resulting that the 39 GHz attenuation is about 2.9 times greater one (in dB/km). A power law frequency scaling formula was determined through theoretical rain attenuation computations using the measured DSD.
