Die Studie konzentriert sich auf das mit der Ernte verbundenes Fest der Heiligen Margaretha, Hüterin der guten Ernte, das seit dem Barock traditionell in Telč abgehalten wurde. Der Anfang der Veranstaltungstradition dieses Festes in jenes Jahr gelegt, in dem das neu gegründete Tertiatshaus des Jesuitenordens in Telč ihre Tätigkeit aufnahm (1656). Gräfin Franziska Slawata hatte eine zentrale Rolle bei der Entstehung des Sommerfestes gespielt. Sie hatte im Jahr 1655 vom Ordensprovinzial die Reliquien der Märtyrerin als Geschenk erhalten. Die Gestalt des Festes hat sich bald nach den Anfängen (anhand des Vorbilds anderer Feste) auch in Telč in gewissem Maße stabilisiert und kann als allgemein beschrieben sein. Trotzdem, kann man auch solche Elemente des Festes zu verfolgen, die für das Fest in Telč typisch waren. Zu den variablen Bestandteilen gehörte der Stoff des szenischen Auftritts, der thematisch mit der Ernte und der Person der heiligen Margaretha verbunden war. Eines der am häufigsten aufgeführten Motive war das Gleichnis von der Perle (Matthäus 13, 45). Bei weiteren Gelegenheiten trat die heilige Margaretha als Allegorie von Telč auf. Es war nicht unüblich, dass die Familie Slawata das Fest als Gelegenheit für ihre eigenen Zwecke, d für ihre Repräsentation, nutzte. Also, aus der Perspektive des Jesuitenordens gesehen, war das Fest ein geeignetes Mittel religiöser Ideale zu propagieren. Es war jedoch auch offen für individuelle Bedürfnisse und Wünsche. Das Fest hatte außerdem viel gemeinsam mit dem Kult der Göttin Ceres, ebenso wie die Anbetung der Heiligen Margaretha im Telč des 17. Jahrhunderts.

The paper focuses on the feast of Saint Margaret traditionally held in Telč since the baroque era. In 1656, Saint Margaret became the patroness saint of the city, the seat of the newly founded Jesuit house of the third probation. Since then, the feast of Saint Margaret marking the onset of the harvest season was held in Telč each year. Saint Margaret was not chosen by accident. Countess Francisca Slawata, the primary supporter of Jesuits in Telč, acquired her relics as a gift from the Provincial Superior of the Society of Jesus. Soon after the tradition of the festival started, its programme took up the standard form of any baroque era patronal feast. There were, however, features characteristic of and specific to the Telč festival only. The subject matter of the drama was most often related to harvesting. It emphasized the victory over evil forces presented as the agent who could cause bad weather and compromise the harvest. Very often, the Parable of the Pearl (Matthew 13, 45) was staged. Saint Margaret could also be presented as the allegory of Telč receiving the pledge from the city’s inhabitants. The festival could also be used by individuals to raise their prestige. Thus, the elements of the feast were well integrated into the Jesuit apostolic ministry in Telč region. They also served to promote the ideals necessary to the integrity of a well organised society. They were, nevertheless, also open to individual needs and wishes. They, furthermore, shared much in common with the cult of the goddess Ceres as did the worship to Saint Margaret in 17th century Telč.
