In 1970 – 1993, over 300 mosaic works were assembled in Czechoslovakia. Their current status stands between a useless symbol of the communist era and artworks worth protection and treatment. Apart from the presentation of the most famous Czechoslovak mosaic works and authors of that period, special attention will be drawn to the works of Sauro Ballardini, an Italian mosaicist who was active in former Czechoslovakia.
