Expert systems and their applications in the water management field have not been methodically solved until now. The paper brings first results of an original investigation, which outputs will be of a concrete benefit for the practice in water management. Developed applications of information technologies will contribute to its ongoing dynamic evolution and will enable more effective decision processes in water management.
