For a long time, thermal properties of building materials were considered in the form of single room-temperature values. Later, also their dependence on temperature within the range corresponding to their supposed application was taken into account. However, some weakly studied areas remained until now. One of them is the influence of high temperatures on the thermal properties of materials which is an interesting topic for instance in fire engineering.
