The pilot experimental tests of behaviour of reinforced glued laminated timbers are focused on confrontation between natural timber and reinforced timber. The reinforcement was made of six undirectional carbon fiber layers and the upper and bottom layerof bidirectional glass fiber. It was glued onto the bottom beam side. The sets of specimens were tested using the bending test arranged in accordance with valid codes. The results showed much higher load capacity and different behaviour of reinforced specimens than the natural specimens.
