Czech methodology for complex assessment of buildings in relation to the LEnSE project

In the recent years the green building assessment has been acknowledged as one of the most effective ways encouraging sustainable building development. Big amount of different assessment tools and methods have been developed since 1990 and some of them (EcoHomes, LEED, GBTool, etc.) are used all around the world. One of these tools (SBTool) is being implemented into the Czech conditions within the activities of the CIDEAS research centre. The SBToolCZ is a building performance assessment tool designed for assessment of buildings in various phases of their life cycles. The parameters included within the system cover sustainable building issues within the three major areas: environment, social and economic issues. The outputs from the tool could be in the future used for voluntary buildings labeling system based on the European methodology that is being developed in the 6FP project LEnSE at the moment.
