Report on New Version of the Dual-continuum Variably Saturated Soil Water Flow and Solute Transport Model S1D
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Numerical model S1D, developed at CTU Prague, can be used for modelling a broad variety of flow and transport processes, including variably saturated flow in soils with preferential pathways and water facilitated transport of dissolved chemicals. The present deliverable provides the description of the most important changes incorporated in the new version of the S1D code, including replacement of sequentially coupled dual-continuum approach with fully coupled approach. The new version of S1D allows studying the complete class of intermediate flow regimes ranging from strongly preferential flow regime (in a dual-continuum system) to pure soil matrix flow regime (in a single-continuum system). Complete rewriting of the code, utilizing encapsulated program units, will help to streamline the future development of the model.
