SuPerBuildings is an EU-funded research project that is currently working on principles and tools for a new generation of systems for assessing sustainability in buildings. Approaches used in SuPerBuildings deduce the indicator system and individual indicators from certain "subjects of concern". This term was coined by SuPerBuildings and is to be seen as broadly equivalent to the term "areas of protection" used in LCA-field. From these principles a proposal for a generic structure for indicator systemsis being developed. A comprehensive survey conducted as part of the project serves as starting point for addressing methodological issues resulting from the different information requirements of various stakeholders.
