Financing a companys development through "Initial Public Offering" is frequently used all over the word and belongs among traditional methods used on developed capital markets for the raising of funds necessary for business development. The aim of the present paper is to identify the factors that influence decision making regarding the use of IPOs in the conditions on the Polish capital market, and to compare the results of the empirical research with contemporary theoretical approaches to the resolution of this decision -making situation in companies.
