Measuring the runoff and sediment transport on an experimental agriculture catchment
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
A new experimental agriculture catchment, Nucice, has been recently established and equipped with meteorological station, measuring gauge, water sampler and turbidimeter to monitor rainfall runoff processes and to quantify sediment and nutrient transportduring different vegetation stages. The catchment, with size of 0,9 km2, is located in a central part of the Czech Republic. It has moderate slopes with average inclination around 5%. The catchment is drained by artificial concrete channel. Based on thefirst data we identified several events that led into increased sediment transport in the channel. The runoff and sediment transport were numerically modelled to obtain preliminary estimates of driving runoff processes during incomplete vegetation season. We used physically based models S1D and Erosion 3D. The results, after proper calibration of the models, will serve as a basis for more complex research including the observation and modelling of solutes and particles transport (e.g. p
