Trends in Design and Construction of Steel-Concrete Composite Structures
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
During several last years, multiple projects of steel-concrete composite structures appeared, which tried to exploit their main advantages ? self-weight, relatively easy construction and the possibility to reach a short construction time. By that way, the structures are ? defy higher initial building costs ? able to compete with other types of structures. The last advantage is exceptionally important in the case of reconstruction of bridges at roads exposed to heavy traffic, where decrease of construction time enables shortening of traffic disruptions with decrease of related costs and of the environmental and social impact. From this point of view, use of precast reinforced concrete composite slabs (including possible prestressing) is very promising. This paper deals with various solutions of precast and/or prestressed bridge decks, their construction and performance. Introduction to experimental tests on a two-span composite beam with a prestressed cast-in-situ deck slab is included
