Based on the preconditions and problems of modern industrial cities (social and sustainable factors) in a context of industrial architecture adaptive reuse the relevant social functions has been defined: residential function, health care function, cultural function, educational and research function, recreational function, sport function and special-purpose functions. General features of each defined functions have been considered.
