Properties of Plasters with Lightweight Aggregates

This article deals with lightweight plasters with ceramic aggregates, which have been used as a sand replacement. It was applied up to the full replacement. Basic physical material properties, mechanical properties as well as thermal properties were determined by common methods and were evaluated. It was proved that adding ceramic aggregates as a sand replacement to the plasters mixtures leads to bulk density decrease by 47% and open porosity increase by 13%. It also improves compressive strength (by 19%) and thermal insulating abilities of special plasters (thermal conductivity in dried state is by 70% lower than in full replacement). Only values of bending strength went down by 32%. However the lowest bending strength achieved by plaster with full replacement of ceramic aggregate was sufficient for applicability of this special plaster.
