NEW GENERATION OF SATELLITE DATA AND GOOGLE EARTH: INSTRUMENT FOR THE STUDY OF ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS IN PERU
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Satellite imaging is well known as a useful tool in many scientific disciplines and various applications. In the last decade, a new generation of satellite data is at disposal. It means VHR satellite of sub-meter geometric resolution including near infrared channel, hyperspectral data (but still of low geometric resolution), high resolution radar data and as a novelty ? precise DEM, created from radar ? interferometry (InSAR) from TerraSAR X ? Tandem X. The precise DEM created from satellite InSAR datadisplayed in appropriate form can be used as a data source for archaeological sites searching (like similar outputs from ALS). Google Earth, with its free access, is now - thanks to increasing resolution and precision - such a scientific tool. It can bevery inspiring. It improves visualization and dissemination of scientific data, and opens the door to new discoveries. For example, many Nasca geoglyphs are now visible in Google Earth. But there are not only well known geoglyphs. In (for
