The design, manufacturing and testing of blast wave effects reduction wall facing
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Due to the rise of terrorist attack threat the public buildings should be designed to ensure as much safety to its users as possible. This paper builds on research on understanding of blast wave dynamics in interaction with concrete blast barriers. The method for computer modelling of explosive events using LS-DYNA software developed by the author based on experimental data was used to propose an optimal shape of wall facing that would enhance the effectiveness of rigid barriers. Due to the geometric complexity of the proposed wall facing, a special concrete mixture and casting method had to be developed. The paper also includes comparison of measured experimental data and the results of computer analysis. The accuracy of FEM model is then discussed. Thanks to use of TNT explosive charge the experimental results can be also compared to similar blast experiments conducted earlier, which provide the basis for evaluation of blast barrier effectiveness.
