3D map illustrates the residential density of Prague through the concentration of dwelling units per unit area on the scale of the city. The database of Prague Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre, which contains the information about the location of all residential dwellings in Prague with number of apartments in each dwelling, was used for the map creation. Because the data was too detailed for the analysis at the city scale, due to the large number of houses, the area of Prague was aggregated into grid cell 500x500 m. This map is part of an extensive research of Prague urban form, aimed to reduce transport energy consumption and negative impacts on the environment.
