Transformation of the coordinates is one of the key geodetic calculations. Although its nature has been known for a very long time, accuracy analysis is not practically used. In doing so, the accuracy of the transformation key has a major impact on the accuracy of the resulting coordinates. In this article is described the procedure of the calculation of the coordinate transformation and the transformation key, as well as their accuracy. There is also illustrated the positive effect of reduction of thecoordinates before the transformation, the overall stability of the calculation is better and also the standard deviations and variance-covariance matrix of the transformation key are more clearly interpretable. The work also includes instructive exampleshowing the application of described procedures and showing the evolution of precision of the transformed point, depending on the distance from central point, which is similar to the polar method.
