Erosion is a natural, however increasingly negative phenomenon that is necessary to be interested in. Flat, little visible erosion causes the agricultural land loses its fertility, which could be a big problem in the future. It is necessary to identify places most prone to erosion and they are supposed to be solved by erosion control measurement. Currently a lot of rainfall simulators are used to gain knowledge about the erosion processes. It is a device that consists of an experimental artificial rainfall area near the natural rainfall. A wide range of parameters are measured in the experiments. Among the most important is the amount of surface runoff and sediment concentration. Others include the speed of surface runoff, which is devoted to this article. In the implementation of field simulations were used two ways to measure speed. It is a method of color tracer, which is measured by how long it is dye hijacked by one meter. The second method uses the method of the change of the conductivity at a time when the tracker is the solution of salt (NaCl or KBr). The advantage of the color tracer is knowledge speed in any number of sections of selected length. Application of the method shows the distribution of conductivity marker in time. Important times in this case are the onset and the culmination of wave markers. Measurement speed is important for the calibration and validation of physical models of surface runoff. The value of the measured velocity was taken as a verification parameter during recalibration.
