Fibre optic sensing in geotechnics - analysis and evaluation of measured data
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper presents the basic principles of the application of Brillouin Optical Time Domain Analysis (BOTDA) for distributed deformation measurement in geotechnics. It briefly describes the possible and tested utilization of this method (laboratory testing, on site applications) and in more details it deals with several issues and problems concerning data interpretation and evaluation. The first problem applies to unexpected increases of measured strain located at the points of attachment of measuring cable (local compression of measuring cables). The other problem deals also with unexpected increase of measured strain, particularly during borehole measurements. These measurements are provided with four measuring fibres at the same time, but the unexpected strain increases occur only at some of them. The measuring (analyzing) unit used for the basic BOTDA data evaluation enables more deep analysis of the measured data at each point of the measurement. This analysis was provided for selected measurement points of laboratory testing; the results are presented at the end of this paper.
