Outdoor earthen plasters
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper is focused on the stabilization of clay for outdoor earthen plasters. Positive results were reached with special types of polymer binders applied in small doses into earthen plasters. This method of stabilization represents an air-permeable variant fit for use especially in straw-bale or other types of natural or technical insulation. Another use is for the reconstruction of buildings from adobe and pisé or the construction of new ones. The latest trends indicate an exploitation potential in thermal insulation systems as a thin-layer top coat. However, in this application, the main gain is the aesthetic unification of interiors and exteriors. The text describes the selection of suitable clay and sand, the process of clay stabilization, composition of wall layers and their influence on the microclimate. Outdoor earthen plasters were for the first time introduced in the Czech market as an innovation in sustainable building at the end of 2009. These plasters are protected by a utility model and a patent.
