Review of discrete fracture network modeling
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The presented annual report is written in the form of a literature review and summarizes state-of-the-art approaches and strategies adopted in discrete fracture network (DFN) modeling. The report identifies geometrical and statistical models and parameters that are commonly used to describe DFN. It also reviews algorithms that make it possible to identify parameters of these models from field data. To this end, optimization methods are often used. Besides description of algorithms, the report also presents an overview of practical findings and analyses of other teams dealing with discrete modeling of fractured rock and processes leading to rock fracturing. The outcomes of the literature review serve as a theoretical basis for two related tasks: 1) development of methodology for collection of field data for DFN modeling, and 2) development of DFN modeling software.
