Substitution of cement by pozoolan active admixtures
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This paper deals with replacing of Portland cement by active admixtures. There are more reasons for replace cement by admixtures. Pozzolan active admixtures, which are actively involved in hydration of concrete can improve properties of hardened concrete. Partial substitute of cement by admixtures can reduce the impact of cement production on CO2 emissions. Production of one tonne of Portland cement releases one tonne of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Due to the fact that high strength concrete contains more cement than concrete of normal strength classes and is becoming more and more fre-quently used material, there is no presumption of reduction in its production. This paper deals with the replacement of cement by metakaolin, fly ash and silica fume. Substitution of cement by admixtures was for 5%, 10%, 20% 30%, 50% and 80% of weight of cement. Substitution of cement by silica fume, metakaolin and fly ash up to 20% had a positive influence on the compressive strength.
