Comparison of properties of recycled concrete aggregate with naturel aggregate
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The volume of demolition and construction waste, although it is not classified as hazardous waste and its storage is relatively simple, is huge and therefore it is necessary to try to reuse it. In the case of recy-cled aggregate from concrete structures is the best way crushed the material and sorted into individual fractions, which can be used as a substitute for natural (virgin) aggregate. This way of application does not bring significant financial gain, but has a huge environmental benefit. Recycled aggregate should meet standards for concrete aggregates. This paper deals with freeze and thaw resistance of recycled concrete aggregate as a substitute for natural aggregate according to ČSN EN 1367-1 Tests for thermal and weathering properties of aggregates - Part 1: Determination of resistance to freezing and thawing. The quality of recycled and natural aggregates was determined according to BS 812-110:1990 – Testing aggregates. Methods for determination of aggregate crushing value. The article presents the results and compares individual testing methods.
