Wang tiles and metal foam micro-structure image synthesis
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In our latest work we are exploring abilities of the Wang Tiles method in conjunction with Automatic tile design to synthesise the micro-structure of particular metal foam. Wang Tiles method compresses and stores the material micro-structure in set of representative volume elements called tiles. These tiles are created by means of Automatic tile design algorithm. Respective number of small specimens is extracted from the original micro-structure image and quilted together according to the rules of algorithm. As an additional step the central area of automatically designed tiles are patched to suppress the influence of repeating tile edges (and relevant tile quarters) on inducing artefacts. With such designed tiles the and stochastic tiling algorithm the planar domain is reconstructed. The performance of the method is influenced by many factors as tile size, quilting overlap, number of tiles in set or usage of raw vs. patched tiles.
