The paper analyzes the geotechnical conditions on a construction site in the vicinity of the town of Yalta, where a geotechnical survey revealed landslide-prone slopes. First, the physical and mechanical properties of soils were investigated with a view of developing anti-landslide measures. Then the safety factor of the slope and the size of the constructionaffected zone were evaluated using the physical and mechanical properties of the soils; possible engineering measures were reviewed.
