Evaluation of the physical and mechanical properties of geological materials at different scales is very important for the mineral mining and processing industry. At the macrolevel, these properties are studied by such geophysical methods as seismic tomography, electrical prospecting, etc. At the microlevel, the porosity, fractures, and other structural features of rock samples are chiefly characterized by electron microscopy and X-ray tomography, and some other perspective methods of NDT.
