Experimental Investigation of Stiffness in Bending of Sandwich Panels at Elevated Temperatures
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper describes tests of bending stiffness of sandwich panels at normal and elevated temperature. For the tests sandwich panels with mineral wool core 100 mm and 230 mm were chosen. The panels of spans of 2,5 m and 4,0 m were mechanically loaded with 4-point load from the upper side of the panel, and heated up to 200°C, 300°C, 450°C and 600°C from the lower side of the panel. This test setup simulated wind load coming from outside the building and fire situation inside the building. Supports were horizontally restrained to act as a catenary. Elevated temperature was ensured by a system of ceramic heating pads. During the tests deflections of the panel, loading force and temperature of the inner, outer sheet and the core of the panel were recorded. Failure mechanism of the panels, bending stiffness and resistance of sandwich panels derived from the results of the tests are summarized in the paper.
