Laboratory mix design and control mixtures of asphalt concrete with increased RA content
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In this study bio-based rejuvenator and PMB RC binder were used ad compared in terms of asphalt mix per-formance. The mixtures were applied on a trial section of a heavily trafficked trunk road. The paving and compaction was done at standard conditions and control samples of hot asphalt mixture were taken for fur-ther control testing in the laboratory, which included also comparison with the original mix design. This paper covers comparison of laboratory mix design and control mixtures sampled during the paving, in-cluding basic evaluation of bore-hole samples. The characteristics determined on the asphalt mixtures were mainly stiffness, resistance to cracking by SCB-test, rutting and water susceptibility. Additionally long term ageing was simulated on compacted test specimen to get additional information about the performance.
