Influence of rain drops to the soil surface
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Soil erosion by water is worldwide problem. Initial processes of soil erosion starts when the rain drops hit the soil. This research is focused on that initial process. Rainfall intensity and kinetic energy, soill loss, consolidation were observed. Measurements were carried out at the 3 experimental sites: Petzenkirchen and Mistlebach (Austria), Prague (Czech republic). Disturbed soil samples with area of 78,5 cm2 were placed on the experimental sites in the splashcups. When rain drops hit the soil surface, soil is splashed to the sides and collected by the splash cup, then in laboratory dried by 105 °C and weighted to determine soil mass. After rainfall event soil samples were replaced by the new one. Ground photogrametry was used to determine the cosnolidation of the sample during the rainfall event. Rain gauges and disdrometers were installed to every experimental site to measure rainfall intensity and kinetic energy of the drops. More then 500 soil samples were used for this evaluation. Relationships between kinetic energy, rainfall intensity, soil loss and consolidation were estimated. The research has been carried out within the framework of projects SGS17/173/OHK1/3T/11 and GA17-33751L.
