Actual paper deals with development and testing of lightweight concrete with waste tire rubber aggregate. Considering the results from previous studies of concretes with incorporation of various plastic waste materials as partial replacement of natural aggregates, it is evident, that the present knowledge concerning the variations introduced in the composite structure is insufficient to predict the performance and durability of these materials and also to determine the best replacement ratio for the significant improvement of material and especially thermal and insulation properties [1,2]. Recycling plastics as composites aggregates, fillers and reinforcement have several sustainability-related benefits, but their properties are usually less beneficial than those of natural constituents. A complex analysis of the effect of incorporation of waster plastics as fillers and aggregates in composites with enhanced thermal insulation function was one part of ongoing research. Material and thermal properties were studied in normal state and all parameters were tested after elevated temperature. Temperature was in range between 150-400°C. Results extend knowledge about lightweight concrete in extreme conditions.
