Rainfall simulation experiments as a tool for process research in soil science, hydrology, and geomorphology
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Rainfall simulators are one of the most used tools to assess the impact of the rainfall on the surface such as generation of overland flow, soil erosion, infiltration and related processes like soil sealing, crusting, splash and redistribution of solids and solutes by raindrop impact. Regarding the high number of research questions, different fields of application, and not least also due to the great technical creativity of our research staff, a large number of different rainfall simulator types is available and a standardization is not in sight. In this chapter, the different devices with their pros and cons, the different research applications as well as the constraints, needs and challenges for a future use will be explained in detailed and some application examples from our research will be included.
