The aim of the project at CTU in Prague which has started in 2019 is to assemble a thorough experimental data set which can be used for the verification of the presently used material models as well as for the future development. To minimize the variation and to provide a clearer image of the complicated interaction among the basic phenomena - drying, shrinkage, creep, and cracking - all specimens were prepared from a single concrete batch and the concrete mixture was designed to yield a typical ordinary-strength structural concrete with slag-blended binder and w/c = 0.49. The core of the current experimental investigation is represented by 30 partially-sealed unreinforced concrete beams subjected to drying and loading by self-weight, their span ranges from 1.75 m to 3 m. These measurements, which will last at least until the end of 2021, are supplemented by more conventional creep, shrinkage and strength experiments.
