Workshop and architectural excursion in České Budějovice
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The main goal of the professional architectural excursion in and around České Budějovice, the capital of South Bohemia, was to show the participants, who were architects from Upper Austria, important buildings from the city's history to the present day. The tour led from the historic core and the main square to the Renaissance town hall building, then through the adjacent streets around important bank buildings and commercial buildings from the end of the 19th century to the monastery and to the historic streets on the waterfront, to the interesting and technically advanced bridge constructions over the river, to the swimming pool building from the 1960s with a rope structure of a roof in the shape of a hyperbolic paraboloid, up to the modern, subtle library building with a glass facade and the energy-passive wooden building of the residential building, and ended up in a popular park on the border between the city and the nature reserve. The city tour also included an exhibition in the Gallery of Contemporary Art and Architecture, where the leading Swiss architectural studio Christ & Gantenbein presented architectural models of their work.
