Při obnově historických staveb patří mezi neopomenutelné činnosti stavebních odborníků renovace/repase řemeslných součástí staveb, které jsou nositeli historických hodnot. Jedná se např. o povrchové úpravy, tesařské a truhlářské součásti budov, kamenické prvky, podlahy a další. Tyto řemeslné dovednosti zděděné po našich předcích jsou nedílnou součástí kulturního dědictví a je třeba je uchovat pro budoucí generace. Znalost tradičních řemesel a materiálů, které jsou s těmito hodnotnými součástmi staveb spjaty, tak představuje základní předpoklad pro kvalitní obnovu historického objektu. Publikace „Tradiční stavební technologie a profese“ chce přispět k poznání tradičních řemesel tak, aby se erudovaná stavební obnova rozšířila mezi co největší počet účastníků procesu památkové obnovy. Publikace shrnuje teoretické informace k osmi řemeslům s důrazem na jejich stručnou historii, techniky a používané materiály.

During the restoration of historic buildings, one of the unforgettable activities of building experts is the renovation/repair of the craft components of buildings that are carriers of historical values. This includes, for example, surface finishes, carpentry and joinery components of buildings, stone elements, floors, etc. These craft skills inherited from our ancestors are an integral part of our cultural heritage and should be preserved for future generations. Knowledge of the traditional crafts and materials associated with these valuable building components is therefore a prerequisite for the quality restoration of a historic building. The publication "Traditional Building Technologies and Professions" aims to contribute to the knowledge of traditional crafts so that erudite building restoration is disseminated to as many participants in the restoration process as possible. The publication summarises theoretical information on eight crafts, with an emphasis on their brief history, techniques and materials used.
