Experiments with elastic tubes in the mode of self-excited oscillation
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Some phenomena of the blood flow through blood vessels could be simulated by fluid flow through elastic tubes. Recently, cardiovascular biomechanical topics as atherosclerosis genesis, Korotkoff sounds, interaction of blood vessel wall and stent or constitutive laws of blood vessel walls are studied worldwide. Our contribution is based on our experimental study of the self-excited oscillation of thin-walled elastic tubes as a model of some phenomena in blood vessels. The self-excited oscillation is a phenomenon of loosing stability of the shape in a tube under steady continual flow without any external excitation. An experimental line was designed to study this phenomenon. Latex tubes with variable inner diameter and wall thickness were used as specimens. These tubes can be used as a model of blood vessels. ...
