The Effects of Foreign Direct Investment Spillovers and Property Rights

We highligt two effects of foreign direct spillovers. The presence of spillovers reduces the unit cost asymetry between firms, but also has the wealth effect, which is reflected in the size of the market. When the wealth effect of foreign direct investment is sufficiently strong, the congruence interests between countries with rwspect to intellectual property rights protection is possible state of affairs. However, if the unit cost asymmetry between firms leads to monopolization, the congruence of interests in regard to intellectual property rights protection is not achieved.
