The main concerns of this article are feed-rate analysis, high-speed pneumatic spindle and its control. It has been proven that an actual feed-rate in multi-axis machining operations can be dramatically lower than specified, which is considered undesirable in a technological way. Proving the fact in this work was at first on a theory basis using a proposed computer program to predict the feed-rate and then on a practical basis using the actual feed-rate measurement and evaluation on a real machine tool.Furthermore an analysis of the current solution of pneumatic spindle with connection to new designed speed control has been undertaken. Conclusion of this analysis lead to performance characteristics of the designed spindle that have been compared to market available spindle. Comparison showed that our pneumatic spindle has almost twice bigger performance output of the Deuschle spindle.
