The number of vehicle safety features has grown to large number of cooperative systems. As there exist assessment methods for passive safety systems, the need to offer relevant methods for active and integrated safety is evident. The presentation demonstrates a new approach on evaluating integrated vehicle safety systems. Functional approach method with resulting pass-fail criteria will be presented. The method focuses mostly on fail-safe testing with minimizing the number of tests to pass. In addition, it benefits from obstacle detection system type independency.
