Extension module for the TOTEM experimental cooling plant control system

The extension module (EM) was prepared for the DCS system used at the experimental cooling plant of the TOTEM Roman Pot detectors (RPs) which is located at CERN, Prévessin experimental area, building H8. The main purpose of the module is the automated control of the cooling system during the "warm run" of the plant. This new mode of operation has different target temperature of the cooling that is higher by 30 °C compared to the temperature during the normal mode of operation. The EM integrates functions that are necessary to operate the plant in such conditions in one package that was developed as ad-on for the existing DCS project running in PVSS 3.8. Main improvements are related to the real-time control of the coolant flow through the system in order to maintain the system stable without oscillations. The module creates new data-point structure in the DCS data-base, sets archiving of the process variables and registers as a control manager to be started during the PVSS project star
