Experimental Measurement and Numerical Modelling of Fatigue Properties of Glass Fiber Composite Materials
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The calculations of dynamic strength and fatigue life of composite parts are becoming an integral part of the designing process. Correct design of such structures is associated with experimental measurements to obtain the fatigue characteristics of materials. This paper describes the methodology which has been using at the Department of Composite Technology in VZLÚ in Prague. There is also described the optimization of test specimens and the results of experimental measurements of E ? Glass / Epoxy laminate with a plain weave of reinforcement are presented. The number of cycles to failure, residual strength and stiffness reduction were observed during the experiments. Future development of fatigue calculations is based mainly in the use of experimentaldata to identify the different degradation models and their implementation to finite element method software. This methodology has already been tested for CSM (Continuous Strand Mat) composite and the results of these calculations are al
