Antistatic coating materials are used to create electrically conductive coatings which are thanks to their properties suitable for environments where it is necessary to prevent the formation and adverse effects of electrostatic charge (static discharge, accumulation of dust particles and other negative phenomena). They are used in petrochemical industry, precision optics, electro technology and in other numerous fields. Within the research at the Department of Manufacturing Technology, Czech Technical University in Prague the influence of a method of filler dispersing and parameters of mixing process of antistatic coating materials on final technological and functional coating properties was studied. Analysis of the issue and presentation of partial results are the subjects of this article. It is necessary to realize that by choosing a suitable technology and parameters of a mixing process of liquid suspension it is possible to achieve higher level utility properties of coatings or reduce the amount of the filler needed to obtain specific properties of the coating material. Therefore, it is evident that the importance of optimizing of the mixing process and the knowledge of each method can bring streamlining of the producing process of coating material by material, time and money savings while improving functional and protective coating properties.
