Future Application of the Motion Threaded Screw

This paper introduces the linear motion drives, mainly lead screw, ball screw and a new innovative idea – motion threaded mechanism. The motion threaded mechanism is linear motion screw with rolling elements, sheaves. Presumptive advantages in comparison with the ball screw are smooth and silent movement, possibility of high threaded pitch, possibility of variable threaded pitch (variable linear motion), simple and flexible construction and cheap production. A disadvantage is low load capacity. These and other qualities have to be confirmed by testing and simulations. Future application is very wide. It is possible to use it in all production industries, health care, military, research equipment, automatic home equipment and so on.
