This paper deals with prediction of shear viscosity of a viscoelastic fluid. Experimental data obtained in literature which was performed in rectangular slit dies with aspect ratios of 0.1 and 0.2. The shear viscosity was evaluated by method of Kozicki which expresses relation between wall shear rate and wall shear stress of Power law fluid flow in non-circular ducts. Calculated shear viscosity value was validated by CFD simulations by means of comparing experimentally obtained pressure profile and that predicted by simulations. It was found that predicted pressure profile by simulation was in a good agreement with experimentally obtained pressure profile.
