The paper deals with experimental investigation of the turbulent velocity field in the discharge flow from a standard Rushton turbine impeller in a pilot plant mixing vessel. The time-resolved PIV experimental technique was used for determination of the velocity field in an investigated volume of an agitated system. The aim of this experimental study was to investigate the effect of PIV resolution on the mean and RMS fluctuation velocities in the impeller discharge flow. It was found, that all dimensionless velocities except for radial component of the fluctuation velocity can be statistically taken as constant and independent of the dimensionless spatial resolution for investigated operational conditions.
