Detection of dactyloscopic traces on cartrige cases
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Recognoil 2W device, manufactured by TechTest company is a handheld wireless gauge for oil and grease detection on metals. The principle of detection is based on the induction of the luminescence of contaminants, their capture and evaluation using the supplied software. This device is used in research project within the scope of to detect dactyloscopic traces on various surfaces with different sources of light for their visibility. Research project “Research and Development of Equipment for Effective Finding and Providing of Dactyloscopic Traces” funded by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic is solved in cooperation between the CTU in Prague, TechTest, s.r.o. and Criminalistic Institute of Prague. The main goal of this collaboration is to design a modern device for non-destructive and contactless collection of latent traces, suitable for forensic practice, called RecoDactylus. In this paper, an experiment of testing visibility of latent traces under the UV source of light on cartridge cases using a Recognoil 2W gauge is presented.
