The article focuses on the Value Stream Mapping tool (VSM) and on the first attempts at its use, especially as one of the tools of lean manufacturing in industrial production and its subsequent development through industrial development. Research is based primarily on empirically focused research. The authors secondarily on heuristic observation, the author's practical experience, interviews, and observations with a showcase of VSM evolution and current use in many different industries.
