This article focuses on the effect of surface roughness and cleanliness on the adhesion of coatings. The research focuses on the different levels of surface roughness and cleanliness achieved by different types of surface pretreatments. Subsequently, testing experiments have been carried out to measure the adhesion of coatings applied to prepared surfaces using standardized test methods such as cross-cut and pull-off tests.
